Four of these JS1s finished in the top ten. An astonishing 12 JS3s finished in the top 15 including the first 6 positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jonkersailplanes.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/18m-results-947x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6309\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">18m class final results<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>French pilot Christophe Abadie took gold with a handsome margin. The strong Italian team, Riccardo Brigliadori and Davide Schiavotto, respectively took silver and bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Competition at this level is intense. The smallest mistake can cause you to move down multiple positions, and recovering&nbsp;is nearly impossible.&nbsp;There is just absolutely no room for error. However, the brothers didn&#8217;t allow the situation to get them down and quickly, with the help of friends, organised the&nbsp;rental of two other JS3s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/jonker-sailplanes.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/295367101_442813297855859_2931091128225456647_n-1024x768-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-9072\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">FA (flown by Attie) and BK (flown by Uys)&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Out of the eleven competition days Uys had four podium finishes and finished overall in 5<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;place. Attie, not far behind, finished overall in 12<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;place. JS once again provided technical support and assistance wherever needed.
